February 2009 - The NJROTC Color Guard and Drill Teams did an outstanding job representing Thunderbird at the West Mitchell Invitational Exhibition Drill Competition held at Air National Guard Base Sky Harbor recently. The cadets placed 2nd overall of 35 ROTC units competing for the sweepstake trophy. Jordan Nguyen placed 1st in the individual drill down with arms. Jordan also placed 1st in the drill down without arms followed by Jared Garcia winning the 3rd place trophy.
The ten person team with arms, commanded by Jordan Nguyen, placed 2nd in Armed Regulation and Exhibition Drill. The 4 person without arms team, commanded by Leanne Reddish, team members Tishae Rice, Julie Ruminski, and Marybeth Schnur placed 2nd overall in 4 person Exhibition Drill. The with arms 4 person team, commanded by Jordan Nguyen, and team members Jeff Davis, Michael Stewart, and Devon Beeman placed 3rd overall in Exhibition Drill.
