Student Councils Receive Excellence Awards
May 2009- Two schools in our district have won awards from the National Association of Student Councils.

Cortez High School’s student council has received the National Council of Excellence award. This was accomplished by meeting all “Required Standards” and a minimum number of “Additional Standards” determined by the NASC.

The student council at Washington High School was awarded the National Gold Council of Excellence. This honor is given to student councils that demonstrate the highest levels of leadership and activities by meeting all “Required Standards” and a greater number of “Additional Standards.”

To receive these honors, both schools submitted a letter of recommendation from their principals and summaries of council projects. Click here to see a list of schools from across the nation that received these awards. Congratulations to all who were a part of this achievement!
