Founded in 1911, Glendale Union High School District (GUHSD) serves the cities of Phoenix and Glendale and encompasses 60 square miles. Comprised of nine high schools, grades 9-12, the urban district has approximately 350,000 constituents in the Phoenix metropolitan area. The average number of students enrolled is 14,500. All schools are accredited by the Arizona Department of Education, North Central Association of Schools and Colleges (NCA CASI) and AdvancEd. In 2008, the district was the first in the state to be accreditated under the newly developed North Central Association International AdvancEd quality school standards and protocol.
Our nine high schools are:
Metrocenter Academy is an alternative school for students with at least 10 high school credits who are between the ages of 17 and 21 wishing to return to school to obtain their high school diploma.
