In 2003 "The Special Election Citizens' Committee" was formed  to develop and to recommend to the Glendale Union High School District Governing Board to call for a Special Election for the purpose of authorizing issuance of bonds in the amount of $80,000,000 and a capital outlet override in the amount of $4,485,000.  The issuance of Bonds was passed in November of 2003 and the Bond Program began in earnest in 2004. 

The funding priorities of the 2003 Bond Program were as follows: 

  • Student Safety
  • School Infrastructure
  • Student Growth
  • Program Equity

To date we have authorized and completed projects totaling $73,674,965.

Some of the Highlights of our Bond have been to: 

  • Construct New Media Centers - 7 Schools
  • Renovate Old Media Centers into new Classrooms - 7 Schools
  • Upgrade our HVAC System in our Gyms - Districtwide
  • Upgrade our Theater rigging and grand drapes - Districtwide
  • Construct All-Weather-Tracks --Districtwide
  • Replace Windows with Safety Glass - Districtwide
  • Roofing Renovation or Replacement - 7 Schools
  • New Classrooms or Classroom Renovations - 4 Schools
  • Football Bleacher Upgrades - Districtwide
  • Locker Room Renovations - 5 Schools
  • Underground Chillerline Replacement - 5 Schools
