Studies have shown that, through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), children consume twice the servings of fruits and vegetables and greater amounts of grains and dairy than children who eat lunch brought from home or who leave school to eat lunch.

No super-sizing here. The meals served as part of the NSLP are provided in age-appropriate serving sizes making schools some of the only places in the U.S. where you can purchase a meal with the recommended serving sizes.

FEDERAL LUNCH PROGRAM

Glendale Union High School District offers a variety of foods for breakfast, lunch and snacks to the high school students at all nine campuses. The district also participates in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs, which allows us to offer discounted meals to eligible students. Discount Meal applications are available at the school cafeteria or from the school secretary. Discount Meal applications are only available after July 1 or 30 days before the first day of school, whichever comes later.

A Meal Deposit Account is available to all students. It is a way for parents to deposit money into an account for their child(ren) to use towards breakfast and lunch throughout the year. Applications are available from the school cafeteria.

PAID STUDENT WORKER PROGRAM
The help our students, we have a Paid Student Worker Program where students work twenty minutes or more, earning a wage plus getting a meal.

Our expectations for the students are reliability and a pleasant willingness to work. In return we provide on-the-job experience in commercial food preparation, sanitation, customer service and cash handling procedures. If you know a student who might be interested in working for us, please contact the school’s cafeteria manager.

NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION
To address nutritional awareness, we have the ability to calculate the nutritional values of our menu items. Feel free to give us a call if you have a specific nutritional question regarding the items were serve.

CLUB FUND-RAISING VENUES
To help clubs and organizations, we have our Campus Cart Program and various other fund-raising venues. If you sponsor a club or organization and are looking for fund-raising projects, please contact your local cafeteria manager. We can make fund-raising projects for your group as simple as eating an Oreo – once we determine what twist is takes, it’s all goodies!
