Academic Eligibility for Extracurricular Participation
Scholarship Requirements Under Governing Board Policy 5700A

Attention Students and Parents:

In order for a student to practice or play any sport, he/she must have:

  • physical examination
  • insurance
  • written parental permission

See your Athletic Director for details.

a. Students shall be required to earn a passing grade in each course in which the student is enrolled in and maintain satisfactory progress toward graduation.

b. A student must be enrolled in and pass a minimum of five (5) subjects during the first six semesters.

c. A senior must be enrolled in and pass a minimum of four (4) credit-earning subjects during the seventh and eighth semesters. 

d. Grade requirements:(1) Passing grades are determined by the teacher.  Please refer to the teacher course syllabus for grading information. 

e. A student shall have received a passing grade in a minimum of five (5) credit-earning subjects at the conclusion of each week for eligibility during the next week.

f. Correspondence courses may be used to make up the previous semester's credit deficiencies, but are not counted among the five subjects in which a student is enrolled for eligibility.

Scholarship requirements for eligibility shall pertain to all activities involving competition between schools. Questions pertaining to academic eligibility can be answered by contacting your school Assistant Principal for Operations and Resources.
