Apollo Preschool
This unique training opportunity for students is located
at:
Apollo High School
8045 N. 47th Ave.
Glendale, AZ 85302

This preschool is a lab school environment for three to five
year olds. The preschool students interact with the high school
students on a daily basis. The high school students have had
child development classes and are currently enrolled in COOP
(Child Oriented Occupational Program). This is a teaching
facility and COOP teachers use developmental teaching techniques.

The goals for the children include:
- develop successful social skills
- become a competent problem solver
- develop creativity
- enhance physical development in both large and small
motor skills
- develop cognitive skills as foundations for math,
reading and science
- develop good health habits
- learn to follow direction

Daily activities include:
- lessons presented by the COOP students following
thematic units
- group time (songs, finger plays, sharing, stories,
etc.)
- center time (sand, water, science, manipulatives,
painting, blocks, cooking and free art)
- outdoor time
- snack time
- clean-up time

Fees are based on a Full Day (7:00-5:00 p.m.) or a Half Day
(7:00-12:15 p.m. or 11:45-5:00 p.m.) and include a morning
snack, lunch and an afternoon snack. Breakfast is provided
for those students arriving before 8:00 a.m. Lunch is served
between 11:45 and 12:15 each day.
