Paid Training is provided to obtain a Commercial Drivers License Class B with Passenger Endorsement and School Bus Endorsement, as well as training to obtain an Arizona Department of Public Safety School Bus Certification.
SCHOOL BUS DRIVER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess a current drivers license for one year (class D minimum).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current 39 month MVR required at the time of interview.
- Ability to take and pass required drug screens.
- Ability to take and pass required DOT physical exam.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents and co-workers.
- Ability to speak, read and write in the English language.
- Ability to work split work schedule. Longer schedules may be available.
SCHOOL BUS ASSISTANT QUALIFICATIONS:
Training is provided to qualified candidates in the specified areas of preference.
- Current Arizona drivers license or state-issued I.D.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to learn special methods and procedures for working with students with disabilities or special needs, to include handling equipment required in transporting these students. Some examples include: walkers, braces, wheelchairs, etc.
- Ability to physically lift and move students.
- Ability to read, write and speak in English.
- Experience working with children with special needs is preferred.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with students, coworkers, administrative staff and parents.
- Will be required to submit to drug screenings.
- Will be required to submit to an FBI background check.
- Ability to work split shifts.
