National Merit Scholar Semi-Finalists
October 2010- More than 1.5 million juniors in over 21,000 high schools in the USA entered the 2011 National Merit Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test during their junior year. 16,000 students from the pool of 1.5 million were designated as National Merit Semi-Finalists. They have earned the right to continue in the national competition for 8,200 Merit Scholarships worth approximately $35 million. These students represent the top 1.0% of the very best and brightest students in the entire county. They are our nation's academic champions.

It is with great pleasure that we announce students from our district that can now be counted among this elite group of high school scholars, Alexis Lauren Copper from Greenway, Theodora Ballew from Sunnyslope, Jasmine Fuller from Sunnyslope, Robert Holcomb from Sunnyslope, Justin Wengraf from Sunnyslope, Nicholas Hailey from Glendale, Danielle Eastin from Moon Valley, and Danielle Galipeau from Moon Valley.
