December 2010 - GUHSD Governing Board members Kevin Clayborn and Donna Stout were recognized for their service during their final board meeting on December 1st. The two were up for re-election this year and decided not to run again. Friends, family, and colleagues of Mr. Clayborn and Mrs. Stout enjoyed a reception before the meeting to celebrate their years serving the district.
Kevin Clayborn has served on the governing board since 1998 and is a long-time area resident. He has had three children graduate from GUHSD schools. He is actively involved in local issues and is a strong advocate for continued quality of public education. Additionally, Mr. Clayborn represents the Arizona School Boards Association in the Federal Relations Network.
Donna Stout, widow of former board member Bill Stout, is also a long-time area resident and has been serving on the board since 2007. She is a proud grandmother of four and is closely connected to the GUHSD community. Mrs. Stout also recently earned a Certificate of Boardmanship. After retiring in 2005 from Honeywell, she now volunteers much of her time to the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life.
GUHSD thanks Mr. Clayborn and Mrs. Stout for their years of service. Their commitment and dedication to the district are much appreciated.
