GHS Unveils New Culinary Building
January 2011 – The district’s latest state-of-the-art teaching kitchen was recently unveiled at Glendale High School. Funded through West-MEC, the new culinary facility provides students the opportunity to train in a professional setting, giving them a solid foundation for a career in culinary arts. This kitchen will truly be a place where people from the community can come together, as evidenced by attendees at the dedication ceremony. Mayor of Glendale Elaine Scruggs was in attendance, in addition to Dean Petersen and Greg Donavan representing West-MEC, GUHSD governing board members Ian Hugh and Vicki Johnson, GUHSD Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Johnson, and other district representatives. Chef Shawn Morris is excited to begin instruction in this new, high-end facility. Below are pictures from the dedication.
