THS JROTC Triumphs at South Mountain Drill Meet
March 2011 - Thunderbird High School's NJROTC had an awesome competition at the South Mountain JROTC Drill Meet. Competing against twenty teams from all over the state, THS Drill Teams and Color Guard marched away with a total of eight trophy awards. An absolutely outstanding achievement, this is the first time in recent history when five THS teams placed in competition. 

Dominique Lindstrom dominated the Armed Solo Competition, and Tishae Rice and Marybeth Schnur dominated the Unarmed Dual Competition. Julie Freeman placed second in the Unarmed Commanders Award.

The teams received the following awards:  Color Guard (B Team) seized first place, 10 person Unarmed Team took first place in Exhibition Drill and Third Place overall sweepstakes award, Four-Person Armed Exhibition Team took second place, and 10 person Armed Team placed second in Armed Regulation Drill. Thunderbird placed 3rd overall in the Grand Sweepstakes. Below is a list of all THS cadets:

Unarmed Drill Team:  Julie Freeman (Commander), Marybeth Schnur, Anissa Fuentes, Erika Mavashev, Keely Kouts, Colbey Hoffman, Jackie Hernandez, Alicia Tan-Summers, Hanna Bullock, and Lyric Seschillie.
  
Armed Drill Team:  Kamil Krupczynski (Commander), Dominique Lindstrom, Charley Percy, Matias Opizzo, Austin Vest, Michael Vickers, Aaron Bird, Josh Jasso, and Zack Rippley.
 
Armed Four-Person Team:  Kamil Krupczynski (Commander), Dominique Lindstrom, Matias Opizzo, and Austin Vest.
