District Office Support Staff of the Year- Robbin Schroeder

Robbin grew up in Springfield, Massachusetts before moving west and joining the Glendale Union High School District Family in 1984.

Twenty- seven years ago, the district athletic director, Will Gonzales, hired Robbin as his administrative assistant.  Since that time, Robbin has held the same position with the district, having trained three other district athletic directors: Bob Sterrett, Sid Bailey and Jim Threadgill. Next year, she is looking forward to training her fourth, Michael Fowler.

The level of expertise that Robbin has obtained over the years has earned her an outstanding reputation not only within the district and surrounding districts, but state-wide as well.  It is not an exaggeration to say that there may be only a handful of athletic directors in the entire state that have not worked with Robbin or at least know who she is.

Robbin has a passion for athletics that goes beyond her daily responsibilities.  She has assisted schools with athletic ticket sales, and she is a certified track official, heading up a finish-line timing crew.  She has also assisted at the State Cross Country and State Track meets for many years.

For her service to athletics, in 2006, Robbin was recognized with the Arizona Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Distinguished Service Award.

As outstanding as her involvement has been, Robbin’s greatest service is the way in which she interacts with others. She possesses a positive attitude along with exceptional people skills. She is always willing to provide assistance in a timely and efficient manner. She will go out of her way to answer questions and provide the information necessary for athletic directors and coaches to make good decisions in their planning and in the delivery of their athletic responsibilities.
