Governing Board Meeting Information
Glendale Union High School District has five school board members who serve a four-year term. The Governing Board meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month. Meetings are usually located in the *Board Room of the district office located at 7650 N 43rd Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85020.

Patty Kennedy, President
Patty Kennedy is a long-time resident of the GUHSD and was elected in November 2010. She graduated from Moon Valley High School and her two children also attended Moon Valley High School. Ms. Kennedy and her husband Brendan own a Business Valuation firm in Phoenix and are active in the Rotary Youth Exchange Program.

Susan Maland, Clerk
Susan
Maland has lived in the Glendale Union High School District for more than 30 years. She and her husband are parents of two Sunnyslope High School Graduates. As a former Sunnyslope High School teacher, a district coordinator, and a principal at Apollo High School, Susan is a strong advocate for public schools. She is retired and wants to remain active in an outstanding district by serving on the governing board. Her term began in 2015.

Laura Arita
Laura Arita began serving the Glendale Union High School District as a governing board member in January of 2021. She is a first-generation Glendale High School and Phoenix College graduate, who earned an associate degree in global business. Ms. Arita and her husband are proud parents of two elementary-aged children and a Glendale High School graduate. She is an employee for the Glendale Elementary School District and has served as an active volunteer for the Glendale and Phoenix communities since the mid-1990s.

Patti Hussey
Patti Hussey has been involved with the Glendale Union High School District for more than 30 years. Her two children are graduates of Apollo High School, where she first began as a volunteer in 1996 and spent many of those years very active in the parent booster club. Ms. Hussey volunteers with the Citizens for Quality Education group and is a licensed real estate broker and owner of a real estate property management company. Her term began in 2017.

Pam Reicks
Pam Reicks was elected in November 2008. She graduated from Trevor Browne High School and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. She is a teacher in the Washington Elementary School District and is a proud parent of a Moon Valley High School graduate. Ms. Reicks has been an education advocate and a volunteer in the community for many years.
