Dan Lindsey receiving the Music Educator of the Year Award
The Arizona Music Educators Association held their annual "Hall of Fame" luncheon on January 9. Hundreds of music educators across the state gathered to honor colleagues for distinguished service and excellence in music administration. Mr. Dan Lindsey, Glendale High School's band director, received the Music Educator of the Year Award. This award, presented since 1964, is the highest honor the association bestows on one member. Mr. Lindsey has been the band director for Glendale High School for the past thirty years. Nominated by district colleagues, Principal Deborah Jordan states "His center is always on the students, not just what the day's lesson is, but also how the student is doing socially and emotionally. Danny does not let students give up. He will work with a student, the parents and other teachers to make sure the student is successful in his class as well as in other classes at school." Thank you Mr. Lindsey for all you do.
