JROTC Cadets Advance to National Academic Bowl Championship
March 2012- Both Moon Valley Navy JROTC cadets and Sunnyslope Air Force JROTC cadets have advanced to the 2012 JROTC Academic Bowl Championship and will travel to George Mason University in Virginia this summer to compete with teams from around the country.

After emerging victorious from two grueling preliminary rounds of competition, Moon Valley's cadets will be competing against five other NJROTC teams for a chance to advance to the final round. Sunnyslope's cadets will compete against sixteen other AFJROTC teams in the hopes that they will advance to the final round, where the top Army, Navy, and Air Force JROTC teams compete against each other to be named the best overall team. When the competitions have finished, the cadets will be treated to a sightseeing tour, where they will learn more about the history of the state.

The JROTC Academic Bowl is sponsored by College Options Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization that helps high school students, especially those involved in JROTC, prepare for post-secondary education and life beyond high school.

Congratulations to Moon Valley and Sunnyslope on being the only JROTC teams in the state to advance to the final round of academic competition. Best of luck to both of them.
