Moon Valley Students Win Scholarhips at Arizona C-CAP Competition

Moon Valley Students Win Scholarships at Arizona C-CAP Competition
April 2012- Moon Valley High School’s culinary program still proves to be a strong one, as two MVHS students won scholarships at the state Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) competition. Seniors Daniel Clark and Carrie Beletz scored among the top 30 students out of 120 state-wide, qualifying them for individual scholarships.

Daniel Clark won a $51,000 scholarship to the New England Culinary Institute, where he will begin his post-secondary culinary education in the winter.  Carrie Beletz won the $5,000 Beau MacMillan Scholarship, which may be used toward the school of her choice. She is planning to attend Arizona Culinary Institute in the fall.

The C-CAP competition tests a student’s ability to perform specific cutting and dicing techniques, as well as execute multiple recipes as flawlessly as possible.

Congratulations, Carrie and Daniel, and best of luck to you in the future!
