Third GUHSD Teacher Named "MVP in the Classroom"
January 2012 - Moon Valley teacher Brandi Jans recently became the third GUHSD teacher this season to be named an “MVP in the Classroom” by the Arizona Cardinals. Nominated for her excellence both in and outside the classroom by Principal Craig Mussi, Jans is very involved on the Moon Valley campus. She teaches culinary and child development classes and serves as the family and consumer science department chair. Additionally, she coaches volleyball and softball.

Jans was recognized at the Cardinals game on December 18, also receiving four tickets to the game, four VIP sideline passes, and a Cardinals jersey.

The Arizona Cardinals and University of Phoenix use this award each year to recognize and reward outstanding K-12 teachers from across the state. This season, 24 teachers received the honor after being nominated and then chosen by a panel.

Preceding her in this honor were fellow Moon Valley teacher Ashley Burns and Cortez teacher Amy Sherrill, who were both recognized at games earlier in the season. Congratulations to all three of our “MVPs”!
