GUHSD Receives Award for Being a District Parents Want

GUHSD Earns "What Parents Want" Award
August 2012- GUHSD won a high honor from School Match, for being one of only a few schools in the nation to earn the "What Parents Want" Award. Only 16% of the nation's nearly 16,000 public schools were recognized for meeting the needs of families choosing schools.

School Match is the nation's largest school selection consulting firm. The company collects, audits, processes and manages information about public elementary and secondary schools.

School Match based the award selection on how competitive GUHSD is when it comes to academic test scores, as well as GUHSD's above average expenditures that are put back into the classroom, availability of programs at the secondary level, small class sizes, among other criteria.

A letter was sent to the Arizona School Leadership Association, as well as the Superintendent of the Arizona Department of Education, recognizing GUHSD for this honor.
