Independence High School Students Take Part in Believe Campaign

Students Write Letters to Santa to Make Donations to Make-A-Wish
December 2012- Independence High School journalism teacher, Lisa Cass, and her students are helping to spread some holiday cheer to children with life-threatening diseases. Cass and her students are writing letters to Santa, as part of Macy's Believe Campaign. The campaign is the result of a partnership between Macy's and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The store donates $1 to Make-A-Wish for every letter to Santa received.

This has been an annual project for Cass and her classes for the past four years. Last year, her classes wrote 10,000 letters to Santa. This year, students have already written more than 16,000.

"Our students are willing to give their time to help others and it shows how caring they are," says Cass about the participation from her students.

Macy's is accepting letters for the Believe Campaign until December 24th.
