July 2016 – Glendale Union High School District is proud to announce Alissa Krantz as the new Director of Special Education.

Mrs. Krantz has been dedicated to students with special needs for more than 20 years. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Dakota, with a double major in Elementary Education and Special Education. Her Master’s of Special Education was earned from Northern Arizona University, as well as a Master’s of Educational Leadership with principal certification.  

Mrs. Krantz has taught special education in elementary, middle and high schools. 

She previously worked as the Chairwoman of the Life Skills Department at Scottsdale Unified School District. She was also a program coordinator for Arizona State University and the Special Education Administrator for Scottsdale Unified Schools.

"I am very excited to be working in a position that will allow me to share my passion for creative programming and student-centered planning,” she said. “Students deserve great teachers, and I am proud to be part of a school district that demonstrates these ideals, placing student progress in the forefront while supporting the work of the classroom teacher."
