Students Display Artwork and Win Prizes at Annual Art Show and Awards Reception

This is the image for the news article titled Students Display Artwork and Win Prizes at Annual Art Show and Awards Reception April 2019 – The annual Glendale Union High School District ‘Young at Heart’ Student Art Show is currently on display until Thursday, April 25 at Fletcher Library at ASU West. The art show provides GUHSD students the opportunity to showcase their talents and incredible designs. With the help of their talented art teachers, students created striking pieces using a wide variety of mediums including ceramic, oil pastel, clay, watercolor and even photography.

In addition, students were awarded for their pieces at the annual awards reception, which was held on Thursday, April 18. Over 70 students from across GUHSD’s nine high schools had artwork on display that would be judged for first, second and third place prizes. The People’s Choice Award, Glendale Arts Council Honor Award and District Honor Award were also given out to the best artwork at the show. Cash prizes ranged from $25 to $250.

Several of these award-winning pieces are up for sale at Fletcher Library at ASU West. GUHSD’s brilliant art faculty, who are professionals in their field, also have artwork on display that are available for purchase as well.
