GUHSD Holds First Ever Virtual Retirement Event

GUHSD Governing Board Virtually Honors 2020 Retiree Employees

Virtual Retiree EventMay 2020 – Glendale Union High School District retiree employees, including teachers, administrators and support staff members, were honored on May 6 at GUHSD's first ever virtual Retiree Recognition Reception. GUHSD Governing Board members, Superintendent Brian Capistran, District Administrators and this year's retirees all gathered virtually via WebEx where the retirees were acknowledged for their outstanding contributions to their schools and the GUHSD community.

The 2019-2020 retirees include Cristi Davis and Linda Drotman from Apollo; Jeri Bennett, Leslie Loudermilk and Walter Sampson from Cortez; Sharon Fischer from Glendale; Scott Giddings from Greenway; Marian Wimer and Jerry Hermann from Independence; Julie Rasor and Denise Silcox from Moon Valley; Gilbert Holguin, Deborah Jamieson, Pamela Manoff and Sheila Novak from Sunnyslope; Ronda Dettmar from Thunderbird; Kathy Scharlau from Washington; Kathy Abell and Wendell Meyer from Online Learning Academy; Troy Damper from Next Step; and John Chapman, Joie Eddings, Ester Evans, Kimberly Means, Margaret Moser, and Donald Trenasty from the District Office. 

We thank all of our excellent retiree employees for their commitment and service to GUHSD, and greatly appreciate their contributions to our students, families, schools and community.
