Food Service & Nutrition

  • The GUHSD Food & Nutrition Department is dedicated to supporting the educational process by providing nutritious, affordable meals to students. We strive to provide students with access to a wide assortment of foods that are both appealing and nutritious. Meals, foods, and beverages sold or served at our schools are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

    School Meals - Quick Tips

Why School Meals Are Not Free in the 2022-2023 School Year

Beginning August 8, 2022, the federal government is no longer providing free school meals. The USDA made it possible for school nutrition programs to serve all students free breakfast and lunch through waivers. Congress did not extend these waivers for the upcoming school year, so we will go back to regularly priced breakfast and lunch.

We recommend submitting a Free & Reduced Price Meals application by clicking on the link to the right.

NOTE: You can also complete a paper application for free or reduced-priced meals in English or Spanish by clicking the links below. Please download and print the form, fill it out and return it to your teen's school or the GUHSD Food Services Department.
