Glendale High School Quarterback Wins Ed Doherty Award

From Joe McHugh, Glendale Star-

"The Arizona Sports and Entertainment Commission released its winners for the Week 6 Ed Doherty Award, and it included Glendale High School’s quarterback Zechariah Owens for his performance against Independence High School.

In the 38-31 victory, Owens totaled 367 all-purpose yards and six touchdowns against his school’s bitter rivals.

The Ed Doherty Award has served as one of the highest honors in high school football, encapsulating the entire player on and off the field. Owens’ demonstration on the field was more than enough to catch ASEC’s eyes, and his display was a key factor in the victory."
