GUHSD GOVERNING BOARD RECOGNIZED 25-YEAR & RETIREES

Glendale Union High School District employees, including teachers and support staff members, were celebrated, on May 3 at the annual 25-Year Employee and Retiree Recognition Reception. In total, 60 employees, were honored including 25-Year employees and retiring employees. The GUHSD Governing Board members, superintendent, school principals, and supervisors were present to acknowledge the employees for their excellent service and appreciation of their contributions to our students, families, schools, and the community.

To honor the 25-Year employees for their years of service, each 25-Year employee will be remembered by having their name with dates of service inscribed on a plaque that will hang in the District Office.

25-Year employees from 2022-2023 included Amy Edstene and Patricia Nochez from Apollo; Christopher Schultz from Cortez; Olivia Braun from Greenway; Douglas Kimball and Jennifer Perry from Independence; Anne Kauffman, Refugio Valdez, and Craig Zellman from Moon Valley; Paul Dong and Michelle Olshan from Sunnyslope; Shannon Miller and Eric Smith from Thunderbird; Elizabeth Johnson and Adam Roberts from Washington; Marcela Capistran from the Online Learning Academy, and Ester Evans from the District Office.

The 2022-2023 retirees included Rudolpho Aguilar, Beverly Ducey, Anna Kron, Mario Juarez, and Helen Pianga from Apollo; Diana Cheung, Debra Langley, Roderick Mathis, Teresa Penzone, and James Wright from Cortez; Laurie Barden, Bronwyn Louvau-Campbell, and Barbara Cole from Glendale; Holly Swartz, Claudia Vera, and Lorane Walth from Greenway; Kenneth Farrell and Cheryl Stingleman from Independence; James Bloom from Moon Valley; Joyce Baird, Michael Brauer, David Brosius, Viola Diaz, Carolyn Lamkins, and Kimberly Montano from Sunnyslope; Kimberly Azevedo, Luisa Coss, Katherine Devoto, Lori Hofer, Don MacGregor, and Tricia Parker from Thunderbird; Rosemarie Bennett and Susan Martinez from Washington; Steve Ducey from Online Learning Academy; and Peter Arkin, Christina Charette, Jan Cordova, Susan Martin, Robyn Nash, Eric Pinckert, Bruce Sandberg, James Cory Shinkle, and Amanda Shively from the District Office.

We sincerely appreciate each of these individuals – the dedication, the service, and the talents they have provided to our students and our community.
