Night School
Philosophy
Glendale Union High School District operates Night School
to help those students in need of credits to graduate on time,
or to graduate as soon as possible after their original graduation
date; it also gives students a chance to remediate a poor
grade received in a subject. Night School is operated as a
service to our community. Students from all nine schools in
the district are eligible to attend, as well as students from
other districts.
Students are held to the same stringent academic standards
as applied during the regular day school year. This holds
true for District Assessments as well as course objectives.
Night School teachers are chosen from the general population
of Glendale Union High School District teachers. They are
picked for their subject matter expertise, as well as their
ability to teach students in the Night School setting.
Counselors are also an integral part of our program at each
of our high schools. They target students who are lacking
credits or need to remediate a grade; then, they work with
the students to help them choose their best course of action.
Night School is another strategy that this district utilizes
to make sure that all of our students are prepared to accept
the challenges and choices of their future.
