GUHSD Earns Top Honors for Excellence in Financial Reporting

The Glendale Union High School District (GUHSD) is proud to announce that it has received two of the most respected awards in public-sector financial reporting for the Fiscal Year 2024 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. This recognition reflects over three decades of GUHSD’s ongoing commitment to transparency, accountability, and the responsible use of taxpayer resources.

Excellence Recognized by GFOA and ASBO

GUHSD was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), the highest honor a government agency can earn for financial reporting. This award is presented only to public organizations that meet rigorous standards for clarity, completeness, and transparency in their financial documents. 

Independent reviewers commended GUHSD for producing a report that tells the district’s financial story in a clear and meaningful way, ensuring that community members can easily understand how funds are managed.

In addition, GUHSD received the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO International). This distinction is awarded to school districts that demonstrate exemplary financial reporting practices and a strong commitment to transparency. 

Reports submitted for this program undergo an in-depth review by experienced financial professionals, and districts that earn the recognition show a high level of accuracy and accountability in their financial disclosures.

Together, these awards represent more than professional honors; they reinforce the district’s responsibility to the community it serves. Earning both awards also supports GUHSD’s long-term financial stability, contributing positively to the district’s bond ratings and ensuring continued confidence from community partners.
