A Legacy of Commitment and Colt Pride: Celebrating 25 Years of Service at Cortez High School
The Glendale Union High School District Governing Board commemorated a significant milestone by recognizing Lindsay Bray for 25 years of dedicated service within GUHSD. Spanning more than two decades at Cortez High School, her career reflects sustained commitment, versatility, and a deep-rooted belief in supporting students academically, physically, and personally. Her impact reaches across classrooms, programs, and generations of Colts.
Lindsay Bray, Physical Education Teacher
Lindsay Bray has served Cortez High School in a wide range of instructional and leadership roles. For 23 years, she taught English at multiple levels and supported literacy development through Read 180 and summer school credit recovery. During this time, she supervised Title I for five years, helped organize freshman transition programs, supported ACT tutoring and instructional strategies, and served as a Wellness Champion, always focusing on student access, engagement, and growth.
Bray’s impact extends well beyond the classroom. She has coached softball, volleyball, cheer, and sponsored the freshman and sophomore student councils for several years, helping students build confidence, leadership skills, and school pride. Her willingness to step into new roles and support evolving campus needs reflects both adaptability and a strong sense of service.
In her current role as a Girls' Physical Education and Advanced PE teacher, Bray continues to support student development by emphasizing physical activity, nutrition, and overall wellness. Whether teaching English or PE, coaching, mentoring, or leading campus initiatives, her work has always centered on building trust and helping students succeed in all areas of their lives. Her 25 years of service represent a career defined by dedication, flexibility, and a genuine passion for the Cortez community she proudly calls home.
