A Career of Leadership and Impact: Celebrating 25 Years of Service 

The Glendale Union High School District Governing Board recognizes a remarkable milestone by honoring a 25-year service recipient whose career reflects dedication, leadership, and a lasting commitment to students across the district. Reaching 25 years of service represents more than time spent in a profession; it reflects years of mentorship, collaboration, and meaningful contributions that strengthen schools and support student success. 

Scott Stafford, Science Teacher

Scott Stafford has dedicated 25 years to the Glendale Union High School District as a teacher, coach, and leader, bringing experience and passion to every role he has held. Currently, within the Greenway High School Science Department, he teaches Physics, Honors Biology, and Biology. While he now serves the Greenway community, much of his career was spent at Glendale High School, where he built a reputation as an educator committed to both academic rigor and student success.

Throughout his career, Stafford has contributed far beyond the classroom. He served 15 years as a Science Department Chair, supported summer school and Project Sharpe programs, and mentored student teachers entering the profession. His impact extends to athletics, where he amassed more than 50 seasons of coaching experience. His accomplishments include holding the school record for most wins in Glendale High School history and earning recognition as a Phoenix Suns Coach of the Year, Arizona Big Schools Coach of the Year, and a two-time Region Coach of the Year. He has also been recognized with Achievement Above All honors for both teacher and group leadership.

What stands out most about Scott Stafford’s career is the way he measures success through the students and athletes he has supported. From mentoring future educators to running summer camps, his work is centered on creating opportunities for others. He often reflects on the privilege of teaching and coaching more than 4,500 students. Through decades of leadership, mentorship, and commitment, Stafford has left a lasting mark on the students and communities he has served across GUHSD.
