Honoring 25 Years of Service in the Glendale Union High School District
The Glendale Union High School District Governing Board proudly recognizes a group of exceptional employees who have reached the milestone of 25 years of service. This achievement reflects decades of dedication, leadership, and commitment to supporting students, staff, and the broader school community. Across classrooms, campuses, and district leadership, their work has strengthened programs, expanded opportunities, and helped shape the educational experience for countless students. Their collective service represents the lasting impact of those who choose to invest their careers in making a difference.
Britt Anthony, English Language Arts Teacher
Britt Anthony has dedicated 25 years of service to the Glendale Union High School District, building a career rooted in instruction, leadership, and innovation in English Language Arts. Currently serving Glendale Union Online, she teaches English 1-4, serves as the English 3–4 team lead, and has been the English Department Chair since 2024. Throughout her career, Anthony has taught at Independence High School and Greenway High School, where she supported a wide range of courses, including Honors English and Read 180, and took on leadership roles such as team lead and department chair. In 2014, she played a key role in opening the GUHSD Online Learning Academy, where she continued to teach and help shape online learning within the district.
Anthony’s impact extends beyond the classroom through her contributions to curriculum development and student success. She collaborated with educators and partners connected to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to support the implementation of Common Core standards and to help develop districtwide instructional frameworks. Known for her commitment to student growth, she has created meaningful learning experiences for learners, including those in alternative and online settings. Through her leadership, innovation, and dedication to helping students overcome challenges and reach graduation, Anthony has made a lasting impact across multiple campuses and continues to shape the future of learning within GUHSD.
Erin O’Neal, Testing Supervisor

Erin O’Neal has dedicated 25 years of service to the Glendale Union High School District, building a career centered on organization, student support, and districtwide impact. She currently serves as Testing Supervisor, managing all aspects of district and state assessments and supporting data systems and staff training. O’Neal began her career at Glendale High School as an Instructional Assistant, where she supported students in math classes, managed the Cardinals Nest tutoring center, and coached cheer. She later served at Moon Valley High School in multiple roles, including Counseling Secretary, Career Center Specialist, and Data Processor, before transitioning to the District Office as Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction. Since 2020, she has led testing operations across the district in her current role.
O’Neal’s impact extends far beyond her formal responsibilities, with a long-standing commitment to supporting students and school communities across GUHSD. She has been actively involved in extracurricular activities, working at athletic events across multiple campuses, and has supported summer school programs since the beginning of her career. At Moon Valley, she contributed to initiatives such as Pathways to America’s Top Colleges and Universities and was recognized as Support Staff Member of the Month. She has also been an active member of Sunshine Committees at both the school and district levels, helping create a positive workplace culture. Through her versatility, dedication, and behind-the-scenes leadership, O’Neal has played a vital role in supporting students, staff, and district operations for more than two decades.
Laura Ilardo, District Lead Social Worker

Laura Ilardo has dedicated 25 years of service to the Glendale Union High School District, building a career centered on student support, advocacy, and leadership in social work. She currently serves as the District Lead Social Worker, overseeing the district-wide social work program, mentoring early-career social workers, supervising student interns, and supporting site-based teams. In this role, she also leads the development and implementation of crisis-response protocols across all schools. Prior to her district leadership role, Ilardo spent 23 years at Thunderbird High School as a school social worker, providing individual, group, and family crisis intervention while serving as a key liaison for students experiencing homelessness, foster care, or displacement. Her collaborative work with administrators and staff ensured that students facing challenges received the support needed to succeed.
Ilardo’s impact extends beyond her daily responsibilities through her leadership, advocacy, and service at both the state and community levels. She currently serves as Vice President of the School Social Worker Association of Arizona and contributes to the Arizona Department of Education’s School Safety Task Force. Her work has been recognized with numerous honors, including the Achievement Above All award and the Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Award from Rio Salado College. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to supporting students and strengthening school systems of care. Through her dedication, expertise, and compassionate leadership, Ilardo continues to make a lasting impact on students, families, and the broader GUHSD community.
Allison Mattingly, Associate Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction

Allison Mattingly has dedicated 25 years of service to the Glendale Union High School District, building a career defined by leadership, growth, and a deep connection to the district she proudly calls home. Currently serving as Associate Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction, she oversees key areas including curriculum and instruction, special education, career and technical education, information technology, and the assistant principal of student services. Mattingly began her journey in GUHSD as a Title I Instructional Assistant at Sunnyslope High School before becoming a math teacher at Moon Valley High School. She continued to grow as a leader, serving in numerous Assistant Principal titles, Principal at Apollo High School, and later as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.
Mattingly’s impact reflects both her professional dedication and her personal connection to GUHSD as a district graduate. Throughout her career, she has remained focused on supporting student achievement, strengthening instructional systems, and leading initiatives that benefit both students and staff. Her experience across multiple roles and departments has given her a comprehensive understanding of the district, enabling her to lead with insight and purpose. Through her leadership and long-standing commitment, Mattingly continues to help shape the direction and success of GUHSD, leaving a lasting impact on the schools and communities she serves.
