Twenty-Five Years of Dedication: Honoring Glendale High School’s Legacy of Service
The Glendale Union High School District Governing Board acknowledges five Glendale High School staff members for reaching the milestone of 25 years of service to the district. Their collective careers reflect decades of dedication, adaptability, and care for students, families, and colleagues. Together, these individuals work through sustained commitment, institutional knowledge, and a shared belief in supporting students at every stage of their journey. Their service represents not only longevity but a lasting influence on the culture, continuity, and success of the Glendale community.
Angela Johnson, English Language Arts Teacher
Angela Johnson has devoted 25 years to building a career rooted in strong instruction, mentorship, and school pride. A long-standing member of the English Language Arts Department, Angela has shaped countless student journeys through her teaching, leadership, and commitment to academic excellence. Her longevity at Glendale reflects both deep institutional knowledge and a genuine connection to the school community.
Throughout her career, Angela has served Glendale in a wide range of roles. In addition to teaching English courses, including Advanced Placement literature, she has been a mentor since 2012 and a lead mentor since 2020, supporting new educators as they grow in the profession. She currently serves as the ELA Department Chair and previously served as a Varsity Spiritline Coach, Junior Class Sponsor, and Yearbook Sponsor. Her leadership and dedication earned her the Achievement Above All Teacher Award during the 2021–2022 school year.
Angela’s influence extends well beyond the classroom. Whether cheering on students at football games or cultivating a sense of belonging through mentorship, she consistently invests in the whole student experience. Her presence, leadership, and school spirit have helped shape Glendale High School’s culture for more than two decades, leaving a lasting impact on students and colleagues alike.
Brooke Goldman-Eckert, Special Education Learning Skills Teacher and Student Council Advisor

Brooke Goldman-Eckert has served Glendale High School for 25 years, dedicating her career to supporting students through instruction, leadership, and service. As a Learning Skills teacher in the Special Education Department, Brooke has consistently placed student growth, advocacy, and access at the center of her work, making her a trusted presence for students and staff.
Over the years, Brooke has held numerous leadership roles across campus. She has served as Special Education Department Chair and as Student Council Advisor, organizing signature events such as Homecoming, the Old Town Glendale parade, and campus-wide celebrations that bring the school community together. Her service also includes years as a Link Crew co-sponsor, Interact sponsor, and extra-duty scorekeeper for multiple athletic programs. Her dedication has been recognized twice with the Achievement Above All award, in 2010–2011 and 2019–2020.
Brooke’s impact is felt in both visible moments and behind-the-scenes efforts. From student leadership development to school traditions, she consistently goes above and beyond to ensure students feel connected and supported. Her energy, reliability, and student-first mindset have made Glendale High School stronger and more vibrant for a quarter century.
Edna Reilly, Counseling Secretary

For 25 years, Edna Reilly has been a welcoming and steady presence at Glendale High School, serving as a cornerstone of the Counseling Department. Edna has supported students and families throughout the registration process, creating an environment where visitors feel informed, supported, and valued from the moment they walk through the doors. Her career reflects versatility and a deep commitment to service.
In addition to her role as Counseling Secretary, she has previously served as a Special Education Life Skills aide and an EL Compliance aide, assisting with instruction, testing, field trips, and Special Olympics competitions. Her current responsibilities include student registration and variances, translation services, FAFSA and testing support, ParentVUE and ParentSquare assistance, and coordinating communication for IEP meetings. Beyond her formal duties, she has long played a key role in organizing Thanksgiving and Christmas support for families in need.
What sets Edna apart is the care she brings to every interaction. She mentors student office aides and ensures every family feels seen and supported. Her compassion, work ethic, and dedication earned her the Achievement Above All award in the 2010-2011 school year and have left a lasting imprint on generations of Glendale families.
Tamara Lazenby, Assistant to Student Services and Counseling Secretary

Tamara (Tammy) Lazenby has dedicated 25 years to Glendale High School, serving as a reliable and knowledgeable presence within the Counseling and Student Services offices. Her career has been defined by precision, organization, and an unwavering commitment to ensuring students and families receive accurate information and support.
Tamara’s professional contributions span multiple roles and responsibilities. She supports enrollments, assists families with ParentVUE, coordinates Honors and Awards, and manages Outstanding Student of the Month recognitions. She also plays a critical role in student assessment, testing new students in reading and math, administering Civics tests, preparing materials for state testing, and monitoring district PBAs. Earlier in her career, Tammy served as a paraprofessional in the ELL room and became Glendale’s first EL Compliance Aide, while also supporting campus athletics through decades of extra-duty work.
Her consistency and willingness to step in wherever needed have made Tamara an essential part of Glendale’s daily operations. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to students and families earned her Achievement Above All recognition during the 2009–2010 school year. Through her work, Tamara has ensured that systems run smoothly and students are supported with care and accuracy.
Will Diaz, English Learner Paraprofessional

Will Diaz has served the district for 25 years, building a career defined by leadership, professionalism, and dedication to student success. A longtime member of the English Learner Department, Will supports students as they develop language skills and confidence, helping them navigate their academic journey with patience and encouragement.
Before joining Glendale High School, Will served as an IT Specialist at Washington High School, where he managed campus technology and computer labs. Since transitioning to Glendale, he has become a dependable presence across campus, assisting with EL instruction, student registration events, Future Freshmen Night, and countless other initiatives that support students and families. His contributions were formally recognized in the 2005-2006 school year, when he received the Achievement Above All award for support staff.
Will’s impact is reflected in the trust he has built with students and colleagues alike. He approaches every task with care, consistency, and pride, ensuring students feel supported and capable of achieving their goals. Through his dedication and service, Will has strengthened Glendale High School’s culture and made a meaningful difference in the lives of countless students over the past 25 years.
