Honoring 25 Years of Service at Independence High School
The Glendale Union High School District Governing Board proudly recognizes the following honorees who have reached the remarkable milestone of 25 years of service within the district. This achievement reflects decades of dedication to students, families, and the broader school community. Their years of service represent not only longevity but also the relationships built, the programs strengthened, and the lasting impact they have made on generations of Patriots.
Kristin Latraille, Food Service Supervisor
Kristin Latraille has dedicated her career to supporting the daily operations and student experience at Independence High School. As Food Service Supervisor, she oversees the cafeteria’s operations, ensuring meals are prepared and that high standards for food service procedures are maintained. In addition to managing the cafeteria’s daily operations, Kristin hires and trains staff members.
Kristin began her career at Independence High School as a Student Coordinator Lead. In this role, she supervised and trained students in various kitchen responsibilities, equipping them with valuable workplace skills and ensuring they had access to food and support throughout the school day. Over the years, Kristin has become a steady and trusted presence at Independence, helping ensure that students, faculty, and staff are cared for through her work. Through 25 years of service, Kristin’s dedication, leadership, and care have made a lasting impact on the Patriot community.
Brett Tracy, Computer Science Educator

Brett Tracy has dedicated 25 years to building a career centered on innovation and student opportunity. Currently serving both Independence High School and Greenway High School, Brett teaches four levels of Computer Science. He also advises the FBLA chapters at both campuses, helping students develop leadership, business, and technical skills that prepare them for future careers. In addition to his classroom responsibilities, Brett serves as Head Coach of the Independence High School Boys Tennis team, mentoring student-athletes and promoting teamwork, discipline, and growth.
Before his current role, Brett contributed to the district in several technology-focused leadership positions. His professional achievements reflect his commitment to both education and community engagement. Brett’s dedication to athletics has also been recognized, earning him 5A Section Coach of the Year honors in 2018. Through his teaching, coaching, and community partnerships, Brett continues to create meaningful learning experiences for students and inspire the next generation of innovators.
Laura Trezza, School Counselor

Laura Trezza has a 25-year career focused on guiding students toward success both during and after high school. Since 2015, she has served as a School Counselor at Independence High School, where she works closely with students across all grade levels to support graduation planning and preparation for college, careers, and other post-secondary opportunities. Trezza also coordinates Education Career Action Plan meetings and serves as the school’s National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) coordinator, Exchange Student liaison, and counselor for English Learner students. In addition, Laura leads the planning of Independence High School’s Honors and Awards event.
Laura began her career at Sunnyslope High School as an Instructional Aide. She later taught Algebra and Geometry at Moon Valley High School before returning to Sunnyslope as an instructional aide and part-time Algebra teacher. In 2010, she joined Independence High School as a math teacher and Geometry Team Lead before transitioning into her role as a school counselor. Throughout her career, Laura has remained actively involved in supporting students beyond the classroom. Laura has helped generations of Patriots plan for their futures and navigate the path toward graduation and beyond.

Reaching 25 years of service reflects more than time spent in a profession; it represents the relationships built, the lives influenced, and the commitment to students. Together, these honorees represent the many ways dedication and experience strengthen a campus. Their work has helped guide generations of students. The Glendale Union High School District proudly celebrates their service and the lasting impact they continue to make within the Patriot community.
