GUHSD Students Display Talents at District Art Show

GUHSD Holds 2013 District Art Show
April 2013- Nearly 100 GUHSD students displayed their artwork recently at the District Art Show. The show was held at the Nielsen Design Studios and featured different works of art ranging from photography to mixed media to ceramics and more. 

Three students won the "District Honor Award" and received the $100 cash prize. Mekah Abbey from Moon Valley was one of the award winners for her colored pencil piece titled "Sound of the Sea". Joslyn Melendez from Washington High School won in the 3-Dimensional category for her clay piece titled "Imagined Ugliness". Cierra Wilson from Greenway High School won in the Photography category for her untitled piece. Cindy Truong from Apollo High School won the "Best of Show Award" and also received a $100 cash prize. Her piece was a paper mosaic titled "The Watcher". Other students also took home various other awards.
