SHS Students Win State Essay Contest

SHS Students Take First and Second Place in Moral Courage Essay Contest
April 2013- Sunnyslope High School students, Bailey Lockwood and Samantha Wentworth, took first and second place in the 2013 Moral Courage Essay Contest. The contest was sponsored by the Anti Defamation League of Arizona. Students had to research a person who had exhibited moral courage and relate that person to morally courageous actions during the Holocaust. The students also had to express their own morals, goals, and future actions. Bailey Lockwood won first place and a $300 award for her essay titled, "A Road Less Traveled". Samantha Wentworth won 2nd place for her essay titled "Pursuing Fortitude". The students will be honored at a reception on May 9th. Congratulations to them!
