THS Student Wins Gold Keys in Writing Contest

Writing Pieces Earn THS Student Two Awards
April 2013- Thunderbird High School student, Meredith Morrissey, won two gold key awards in the 2012 Quill and Scroll International Writing and Photography Contest. Morrissey won the awards for her feature on traumatic brain injuries and her sports story about concussions. 2,436 entries were received for the contest. Only four awards were given to students in Arizona and Morrissey managed to pick up two of those awards. The gold key awards mean Morrissey is eligible to apply for two journalism scholarships. Congratulations to her on this great achievement!
