GUHSD Culinary Students Earn Many Scholarships

Several GUHSD Culinary Students Earned Substantial Scholarships
CulinaryOn Monday, March 21 the Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) Arizona Awards Breakfast was held at the Westin Kierland Resort in Scottsdale. Several GUHSD students received scholarships and awards:

Danielle McKnight and Brandon Alger of Moon Valley High School (Culinary Instructor Vince Pernick) won a $3000 scholarship and $12,500 scholarship to Arizona Culinary Institute respectively.

Alondra Molina from Independence High School (Culinary Instructor Deborah Snyder) earned a $3500 scholarship.

Three students from Glendale High School (Culinary Instructor Shawn Morris) won other substantial scholarships. Andy Delgado won a $4000 scholarship (plus work experience program). Cristina Martinez received $50,000 to the Art Institute. Denise Aguayo earned a $50,000 scholarship to Monroe College, New Rochelle, NY (plus travel expenses and the opportunity to attend culinary school next summer in Italy).

In addition to the students above, three juniors from Glendale High School finished in the top ten:
