STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT REPORT

Celebrating Success & Shaping Futures: Inside GUHSD’s Annual Student Achievement Report
The Glendale Union High School District Governing Board recently held its annual Student Achievement Report Study Session, where parents, community members, elementary administrator representatives, students, and staff came together to celebrate and learn about GUHSD’s academic accomplishments over the past year.
Members of the Curriculum and Instruction Department, under the leadership of Associate Superintendent Allison Mattingly, shared highlights of student performance and key initiatives.
The presentation included an overview of the Portrait of a Graduate, a comprehensive approach to student development that serves as a roadmap to inspire, engage, and prepare students for success in college, career, and life. The six outcomes—critical thinking, academic excellence, creative problem solving, literacy, communication and collaboration, and character and community—define what it means to be a GUHSD graduate.
Attendees also participated in breakout sessions, visiting curriculum stations to learn how GUHSD supports students’ career pathways, were informed about district and school-specific achievement data from the past year, and heard from a current student and a recent graduate who shared how Career and Technical Education programs have shaped their experiences and continue to impact their futures.
This annual event reinforces GUHSD’s commitment to transparency and student success while giving the community a meaningful look at the district’s focus for the future.
