Greenway High School Dedicates Media Center

Greenway High School Dedicates Media Center
August 2011- In a recent dedication ceremony, Greenway High School renamed its media center "Robert J. Sterrett Media Center," after Greenway's first principal.

During the ceremony, friends of Sterrett and former Greenway employees, Bonnie Hoffert and Michael Danielek, spoke about his legacy and his commitment to the school.

In the midst of a thirty-four year career with the Glendale Union High School District, Bob Sterrett was chosen to be the first principal of Greenway when it opened in 1973. He remained in that position until 1986 and helped create the foundation of excellence that Greenway celebrates today.

Both speakers remembered him as a great leader who always put students first. His teachings will always be remembered in the school's motto, "excellence runs green and gold."
