Thunderbird High School Recently Recognized Achievement Above All Winners
speechEric Casper was chosen to the the Thunderbird High School Achievement Above All teacher recipient. Eric holds degrees in Political Science, Law, and an MBA as well as a teaching certificate. He has been recognized by Whos Who and Emerging Leaders in America. Eric teaches mathematics at Thunderbird where his personal finance class has a 100% passing rate. Eric is hardworking and dedicated to helping his students achieve excellence.

Jake Glatting was selected to receive the student Achievement Above All Award. Jake is in the top 2% of his class and a member of the National Honor Society. He also serves as a peer tutor in Thunderbird's ascend math lab. Jake is an accomplished athlete who has been a two time all state punter and 1st team all state quarterback. Jakes teachers say he is respectful, polite, humble, and highly intelligent. Jake plans on playing football in College while pursuing an applied engineering degree.

The Speech and Debate team was seleceted to be the Achievement Above All student group recipient. Speech and Debate combines public speaking with the competitive nature of sports. Students learn self-confidence, quick thinking, analysis, and critical thinking. Thunderbird's Speech and Debate team has placed in the top three schools in the state and many members have individual 1st place awards. The team plans on placing high in the AIA state tournament and the Forensics League national competition.

Michelle Ramsay was chosen to receive the award for the Achievement Above All support staff for Thunderbird High School. Michelle started her career with the Glendale Union High School District at Moon Valley before moving to Thunderbird to become the bookstore manager. Michelle's fellow employees say she is always willing to help and never appears stressed. She always has a smile for everyone and is dedicated to helping everyone at Thunderbird.

Mike Skinner was selected to be the recipient of the Achievement Above All volunteer award for Thunderbird High School. For the past couple years, Mike has been busy as a wrestling and football booster. Mike feels the most important part about volunteering is "the enjoyment of the students and inspiring others through creativity and hard work." His fundraising efforts and help with projects has greatly benefited Thunderbird High School.
